Achievements 2006-7
Introduction
During the first 5 years, our
Rotary Club of Bali Ubud has dedicated its time and money to mostly large
projects.
A year ago, the newly elected
President’s focus was on improving the internal management of the Club. Thanks
to the contribution of so many people it occurred very well.
And from the President’s side a big
Thank You to Secretary Graeme in absentia for his endless support.
Please remember Tjokorda Raka
Kerthyasa was elected for President but due to his engagement in politics he
asked to be the first runner up to do the job.
Some highlights of what we did:
-
Club Members
participated during normal meetings in updating the Club Leadership Plan,
lead by PE Tandy.
-
A number of
policy initiatives were approved by the Board to help clarify Club
Administration Issues.
-
Club Bylaws
have been undergoing revision and an updated version should be ready for review
by Club members in the new Rotary Year.
-
Meetings
run relatively smoothly, with interesting Guest Speakers organized, and a
Guest Book will provide data for follow-ups.
-
Meeting
Attendance has been
satisfactory and above average compared to other Clubs in Bali.
-
Raffles
are well organized and quickly executed.
-
New Member
Inductions are
managed with dignity and some style. A start has been made on providing updated
and revised Induction Kits for new members.
-
The Bulletin
and The Club Website provide current information on Club Activities
and Projects.
-
The website
provides a repository and reference point for Club Information.
-

on 10 of the 12 months on 3rd Tuesday of each month, prior to regular
Club meetings.

Finances / Budget
-
Financial reporting needs are provided as required
-
A clear division of general and fundraising income and expense has been
achieved
-
Membership dues
have been brought up to date, membership fees are balanced out.
-
Changes in
Matching Grant rules for bank accounts have put our bank account in flux pending
a decision and guidelines on final needs. There will be a need to rationalize
banks and accounts as soon as working details are finalized.
Special thanks to Marilyn for her
persistence in searching for a solution to handle the transfer of Matching
Grants money between The Rotary Foundation and RC in Bali.
Paul
Harris / Rotary Foundation:
-
Our goal this year was for 50% of members contribute to Paul Harris –
now we have 60%!!
Or 21 out of 35 members. Special thanks to Ed
Balma for persistence on this.
-
It still seems more information about The Rotary Foundation, Paul Harris
Membership, and “annual fund” vs “permanent fund” has to be provided to our
members..
Community Projects:
Our current projects:
- Temesi Waste / Theme
Park Project
-
Schools Project
-
Clean Drinking Water Project
-
